Cynthia Bielke (C1) is a seasoned professional with extensive media relations, social media, copy writing and strategic marketing experience, including national PR agency experience at Burson-Marsteller in Washington, D.C. and Weber Shandwick in Minneapolis. She has worked with large corporations, including U.S. Bank and Cray Research, as well as small technology and software companies during the Internet boom of the 1990s. She is the recipient of six Awards of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators.
Ms. Bielke spent nearly a decade working directly in the area of higher education marketing, including serving as Director of Communications at St. Catherine University and Director of Communication and Marketing at Hamline University School of Law, both in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was responsible for all facets of marketing and media relations, including social media, during her tenure at these institutions.
She earned a bachelor of science degree in journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and is working toward a master’s degree in writing at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She completed the Greater Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce “Leadership Minneapolis” program in 1997-98. She is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Public Relations Society of America, the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association, the Association of American University Women and the Association of Resources for College Scientists (ARCS).
